Healing in the Ministry of Jesus #14

The healing anointing is one of the ways God brings healing to people. He anoints people with healing power. Luke 4 and Acts 10:38 give us insight into this healing anointing.

The Healing Anointing

In this series on the Gospel cases of healing, we have seen that some people approached Jesus and others Jesus approached them. Different principles apply in each instance.

Many want God to heal them by the anointing upon someone else, without them doing anything, but we need to understand from the Bible how this operates and when it applies. We cannot just ignore the principles taught us in the examples God gives.

I encourage you to study this whole series to get a clear picture of how healing works.

Healing in the Gospels

God gave us the examples of people receiving from Jesus to help us. We are given details in these examples because God wants us to learn the truths for our own lives.

No single example teaches everything about healing. Instead, they work together to give us a clear picture. Each example in the Gospels emphasises different aspects of healing. To get a complete understanding, its good to look at all the cases to see what God highlights

In Luke 4, Jesus talked about the Spirit of the Lord upon Him. He went on to talk about how a person with that anointing is ‘sent’ by God to individuals or a group. This teaching gives clarity on what Jesus is talking about when he refers to being ‘sent’.
