John 5 The Man Sitting by the Pool
In this series on the Gospel cases of healing, we have seen that some people approached Jesus and others were approached by Jesus. Different principles apply in each instance.
Jesus went to the man in John 5 who was sitting by the pool waiting for God to move in his life. This waiting mentality is hindering many. Are we supposed to be like the people in John 5 who were waiting or does the Bible teach us to press in toward God for healing?
I encourage you to study this whole series to get a clear picture of how healing works because each teaching gives insight into different aspects of receiving.
Healing in the Gospels
God gave us the examples of people receiving from Jesus to help us. These examples give details because God wants us to learn the truths for our own lives.
No single example teaches everything about healing. Instead, they work together to give us a clear picture. Each example in the Gospels emphasises different aspects of healing. To get a complete understanding, its good to look at all the cases to see what God highlights
In John 5, we see a particular mentality toward receiving. Hwoever, only one man by this pool was healed, while the others who were waiting did not. There’s a better way taught in scripture.
